Hype or Nope answers one question about the things everyone's talking about: is it actually worth the hype?

We cover tech, video games, movies, TV and upcoming releases. Every major piece ends with a clear verdict:

• HYPE - it lives up to the buzz. Worth your time and money.
• NOPE - overhyped, overpriced or just not good. Skip it.
• DEPENDS - great for some people, a pass for others. We'll tell you which camp you're in.

We also publish hot takes and the occasional bit of humor, because not everything needs a spec sheet.

How we decide

A verdict is a writer's honest opinion after spending real time with the thing - playing it, using it, or watching it. For unreleased products we call it an early hype check and say so plainly: we judge the trailer, the announcement or the preview, not a final product. We don't take payment for verdicts.
